I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of English Communications at Mount Angel Seminary, and in 2014 I was blessed to receive the Saint Bonaventure Award, the seminary's highest faculty honor. Prior to the seminary, I taught at Chemeketa Community College and Oregon State University.
While I teach English and writing courses, including journalism, I am also teaching several courses related to art and iconography. I teach History of Art, a required course for the seminary's college students, and a Theology of Art elective, open to the seminary's college and theology students.
I offer talks and presentations on monastic and art-related topics. As a writer and an artist, I include writing prompts and activities and hands-on art activities in my presentations whenever possible. My most recent talks and presentations have been for the Alumni Day for Mount Angel Seminary, for groups visiting Shalom Prayer Center, the retreat ministry of Queen of Angels Monastery, and for St. Paul's Episcopal Church and St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Salem, Oregon.
