Zoomorphic Interlace in the Book of Kells

In our discussion of the Early Middle Ages in History of Art at Mount Angel Seminary, we include The Book of Kells, which may be found at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.  This illuminated manuscript contains the Four Gospels, and its decoration demonstrates the complexity of interlace, including zoomorphic interlace, which uses animal figures.
