Patterns in the Masoleum of Gallia Placida

The ceiling in the Masoleum of Gallia Placidia in Ravenna, Italy, includes a dazzling display of stars, fruit and foliage.  The large stars are included in the portion of the ceiling that leads to the mosaic of the Good Shepherd.
